PAHO/WHO Maternal Death Training with ISD participation

The General Director of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), Reginaldo Freitas Junior, participated in training and discussions on reducing Maternal Mortality in the context of regional priorities for strengthening women's health, an action that took place on October 1st, at the headquarters of Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), in Brasília (DF). According to him, the activity that involved health professionals from all over the country, addressed strategies to evaluate the essential conditions for obstetric services.

Since 2018 Reginaldo has been a national strategy instructor Zero Maternal Deaths due to Hemorrhage in Brazil, training that has been taking place in Brazil since 2015 and aims to strengthen health services, eliminate barriers to access, train personnel to deal with obstetric hemorrhage and ensure the availability of essential medicines and safe blood for transfusions.

The ISD carries out ongoing work related to preventable maternal mortality, promoting training and awareness-raising activities on the topic aimed at health professionals and society in general since 2016.
