ISD offers Junior Postdoctoral and Knowledge Dissemination Support scholarships for quilombola women

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is accepting applications for one Junior Postdoctoral Fellow and one Knowledge Dissemination Support (ADC) Fellow. These initiatives are exclusively for quilombola women. Applications are open until October 20th. 

The person selected for the Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship, who must have completed their doctorate within the last seven years, will receive a monthly stipend of R$1,200 for one year. They will also have access to a chartered bus that runs daily between Natal and the ISD units in Macaíba.

The requirements for this vacancy are training in the areas of health, biology, engineering or exact sciences and a doctorate in programs in Neuroscience, Biology, Health, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science or Computational Mathematics. 

The fellow's responsibilities include conducting innovative interdisciplinary research in neuroscience, neuroengineering, and health; supervising undergraduate and high school students; publishing results in high-quality journals; developing courses and teaching materials; and participating in institutional activities in public schools and Quilombola communities.

The Knowledge Dissemination Support Scholarship – Level 1C is a 24-month program for quilombola women who hold a university degree in any field or are holders of traditional knowledge recognized by the community. The selected candidate will receive a monthly stipend of R$ 1,430.00 and access to a chartered bus that runs daily between Natal and the ISD units in Macaíba.

The scholarship holder's responsibilities include disseminating and popularizing science, technology and innovation, developing courses and teaching materials, and participating in institutional activities in public schools and Quilombola Communities, among others.

The activities related to both positions will be carried out at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) in Macaíba, where the selected candidates will have access to all the necessary equipment and facilities to carry out their activities. The positions are open to quilombola women with disabilities.
