The deadline for applications for the Postgraduate Student Agreement Program (PEC-PG) ends on September 29th. from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes). The initiative, aimed at foreign students from partner countries of the program, has open positions for master's or doctoral programs at Brazilian institutions.
At the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), 10 Master's degree positions in Neuroengineering are available for entry in 2026 at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), an ISD unit located in Macaíba, Rio Grande do Norte. Applications can be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
The program is the result of a partnership between Capes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and aims to strengthen international academic cooperation, enabling the training of highly qualified researchers in different areas of knowledge.
Requirements and benefits
Foreign students from countries eligible in the notice, who reside in their countries of origin and do not have Brazilian nationality or dual nationality, may participate.
Those selected receive benefits from Capes, which include tuition fees, healthcare assistance, and, when applicable, international travel. The full master's program lasts up to 24 months.
Deadlines and registrations
Registration must be completed exclusively through the Capes electronic platform by 5:00 p.m. (Brasília time) on September 29, 2025. Academic activities are scheduled to begin in the first semester of 2026.

Master's Degree in Neuroengineering at ISD
Created in 2013, ISD's Master's in Neuroengineering is the first and only program in the country recognized by the Ministry of Education in this field. The program aims to train highly qualified professionals with a global and interdisciplinary vision, capable of developing scientific research and products in the field of Neuroengineering.
