The role of the Biopsychosocial model and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in the implementation of the Individual Therapeutic Project (ITP) will be the central theme of the third meeting of the SIG Re(h)abilitar in 2026. The session takes place this Wednesday (3), starting at 1:30 pm, with live and free transmission via Telemedicine University Network (RUTE).
The web conference will be led by physiotherapist, researcher, and professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Isabelly Regalado. During the meeting, the professional will present concepts and share experiences related to the biopsychosocial model as one of the pillars in the implementation of the PTS (Personalized Therapeutic Project).
The Individualized Therapeutic Plan (PTS) is a set of interdisciplinary actions designed for an individual and their family, focused on needs centered on the health context. It seeks to overcome the traditional biomedical model, prioritizing user autonomy and the bond with the team. The process involves diagnosis, goals, division of responsibilities, and continuous reassessment.
In this context, the biopsychosocial approach, which seeks to understand the interactions between biological, psychological, and social factors, constitutes an important aspect in the application of the Individualized Therapeutic Plan (ITP) in the care network for people with disabilities, based on the work of Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CER).
The SIG Re(h)abilitar meetings are held synchronously, via web conference, on the first Wednesday of each month. The initiative is promoted by the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
