The Science Fair and Scientific Exhibitions at ISD is an initiative carried out by the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), which is part of the 23rd National Science and Technology Week (SNCT) program. With the general theme "Science for Women," the event has the support of CNPq, FNDCT, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) — through the Pop Science Program — and the Ministry of Education (MEC), via the Full-Time School Program. The initiative seeks to encourage scientific culture, creativity, and the exchange of knowledge between students and the academic community.
The event will be held at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), an ISD unit in Macaíba, on three different dates: on October 26th, the Science Showcases will take place, with exhibitions, interactive experiments, and games conducted by students and faculty of the Institute; on November 26th and 27th, the Science Fair will be held, dedicated to the exhibition of stands and posters developed by the participating students themselves.
Participation is open to public and private schools in Rio Grande do Norte. Students from preschool, elementary, middle, and high school, as well as technical schools, can participate in the Science Exhibitions and public visits. The Science Fair presentation is aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students, in individual or group formats.
Registration must be done exclusively by representatives of educational institutions (principal, coordinator, or teachers), by filling out an electronic form and obtaining authorization from the guardians of minors. The registration period for the Science Showcases runs from August 28th to October 13th, 2026. For the presentation and visitation of the Science Fair, registration is open from August 28th to November 16th, 2026.
The objective of National Science and Technology Week is to popularize science in the country, especially among public school students, promoting a space for reflection and dialogue that brings together the scientific community, teachers, researchers, students, and the general public.
