The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) achieved the maximum score (10) in the evaluation carried out by the Management Contract Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (CAACG) of the Ministry of Education (MEC), which analyzed the institution's performance throughout 2024. It is the first time, since 2017, that the ISD has achieved this score, which represents an important milestone in the institution's trajectory.
The result is the result of strict compliance with the goals established in the management contract signed with the MEC. Of the 11 indicators assessed with a score last year, the ISD achieved the agreed target in eight and exceeded the 90% of target achievement in the other three, thus ensuring the maximum evaluation.
The CAACG is composed of experts in the areas in which the ISD operates. The Commission annually carries out detailed work to analyze the activities developed by the institution in the areas of teaching, research, financial management and dialogue with the community.
The chairman of the Commission, Fábio de Abreu e Lima, highlighted that the result obtained by ISD crowns the celebrations alluding to the institution's 10 years as a Social Organization. According to him, this is a moment that highlights the consolidation of the strategies implemented over the last decade.
“This is a very important moment, which shows the consolidation of all strategies and actions in teaching, research, extension and integration with the community. At this time of evaluation, we take a very careful look at everything that the ISD did in the previous year, but we also look back on this decade-long history, with the work carried out in Macaíba and throughout Rio Grande do Norte being very beautiful. The state and national reach consolidates the ISD as a reference center for the country,” said Fábio.
The ISD’s CEO, Reginaldo Freitas Jr., highlighted that the score of 10 reflects the collective commitment to the institutional mission and social transformation. For him, the result is a source of pride and, at the same time, an incentive to continue moving forward. “This score of 10 reflects the commitment of all the people who make up the Institute to the mission and the purposes we embrace for social transformation. It also reflects the commitment of each of these people to the excellence with which we strive to work here, every day. On the other hand, it is also a very strong incentive for us to continue in the direction of our institutional growth, believing, more and more, in the strength of these purposes. There is a great deal of love in everything we do and I am very proud to be part of this team”, he celebrated.
Reginaldo represented the ISD alongside the administrative director Jovan Gadioli dos Santos; the manager of IIN-ELS, Edgard Morya; the manager of Anita, Lilian Lisboa; the planning advisor, Eduardo Frare; and the project management and evaluation coordinator, Marcelo Carvalho.
The Commission, in turn, is composed of Fabio Cesar Braga de Abreu e Lima, Specialist from the São Paulo State University (Unesp); Felipe von Glehn Silva, Specialist from the University of Brasília (UnB); Luciana de Andrade Mendes, Specialist from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN); Laerte Davi Cleto, representative of the Secretariat of Management and Innovation, of the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI); and Sylvia Helena Figueiredo Prata, representative of the Secretariat of Management and Innovation, of the MGI. In addition to the full members, Jaqueline Ribeiro Silva, project manager of the Executive Secretariat of the MEC; and Igor Segóvia de Mello, General Coordinator of Health Education Assessment (CGAES), of the MEC, also participated in the visit.
The ISD operates in strategic areas for the country's development, promoting teaching, research and extension in the areas of maternal and child health, health of people with disabilities, neuroscience and neuroengineering. The score of 10 obtained in the CAACG evaluation reaffirms the institution's role as a national reference and strengthens its commitment to quality and innovation in its actions.
