ISD participates in the Annual Meeting of Supervisors of Paralympic Reference Centers 2025

Posted in December 11, 2025

The Santos Dumont Institute participated in the Annual Meeting of Supervisors of the Brazilian Paralympic Reference Centers 2025, promoted by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), in Praia Grande, São Paulo.

The event brought together supervisors from across the country, between December 1st and 5th, to discuss practices, share experiences, and align work guidelines for 2025, focusing on strengthening the national network of reference centers.

The ISD was represented by the supervisor of the ISD/Macaíba Paralympic Reference Center, Fabíola Campos. During the meeting, Fabíola spoke about the process of implementing a Paralympic Reference Center within a Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER), reinforcing the importance of sports in the rehabilitation process.

“Within a CER (Specialized Rehabilitation Center), Physical Education professionals are integrated into the multidisciplinary team and understand that there are various paths within sports. Paralympic sports are a cross-cutting line of care within our CER/ISD (Integrated Sports Center for Sports and Leisure), and sports practice is offered for all life cycles, aiming at inclusion, participation, socialization, quality of life, and also developing athletes to compete,” stated Fabíola.

The Reference Centers are part of the CPB's Strategic Plan, developed in 2017 and revised in 2021. Currently, there are 94 centers distributed throughout Brazil, expanding access to Paralympic sports for more than 10,000 students with disabilities.
