Registration is open from this Wednesday (8) for the 1st Symposium of the Care Network for People with Disabilities in the Northeast and the 3rd Conference of the Care Network for People with Disabilities in Rio Grande do Norte. The event, which will bring together specialists, researchers, health professionals, managers, students and people with disabilities, aims to strengthen care strategies and public policies aimed at inclusion and rehabilitation in the region.
The Symposium and Conference will take place in an integrated, in-person format between June 8th and 10th. The opening ceremony will be held at the Praiamar Hotel & Convention in Natal on the 8th. The rest of the program will continue on the 9th and 10th at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) in Macaíba.
The program will include roundtables, thematic lectures, and presentations of scientific papers addressing contemporary challenges and innovations in the care of people with disabilities.
The holding of the 1st Northeast Symposium marks an important step in consolidating a collaborative network among the states of the region. “The Symposium was conceived with the objective of creating a space for the exchange of experiences, the collective construction of solutions to the challenges of the Network, and the strengthening of ties between the different territories. The Care Network for People with Disabilities has advanced, but still faces common challenges, such as access to and continuity of care, qualification of care, and the incorporation of technologies into the SUS (Brazilian Public Health System),” highlights Lorenna Santiago, coordinator of the Symposium.
The 3rd Rio Grande do Norte Conference, in turn, continues the work of local coordination, evaluating the progress of the state network and discussing improvements in access to health and social assistance services.
