In 2017, the medical preceptor and infectious disease specialist at Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (CEPS), Carolina Damasio, was a speaker at the first event TEDx of Rio Grande do Norte, which had the title: “Here for good!”. His presentation included the Art of Birth, a health education project that uses light technologies and recreational activities aimed at humanization of care and the comprehensiveness of care to the binomial maternal-fetal.
Now, on February 6th, Damásio's lecture was published on the channel Tedx Talks, on YouTube (video below). In it, you can learn about the trajectory of the Arte de Nascer project, its applications in other countries and with CEPS users, in Macaíba (RN).
The Art of Being Born takes place weekly, on Tuesday mornings, and includes the participation of undergraduate students from medicine, psychology and physiotherapy courses, as well as resident doctors in gynecology and obstetrics and health professionals, who work in the development of actions of health education for pregnant women and their families.
Among the objectives of Arte de Nascer, the following stand out: women empowerment on health-related topics during the pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium and reproductive rights; awareness about the maternal-child bond; the possibility for students and preceptors to exercise communication, listening and humanized attention for CEPS users, in addition to interprofessional experience for students in the health areas, an opportunity rarely offered in undergraduate courses.
O TED is a North American non-governmental organization that holds conferences bringing together thinkers and doers, with the aim of promoting ideas that are worth sharing.
