The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) was featured in the program of the seminar "Knowing Early to Intervene Better," promoted by APAE of Campina Grande, in Paraíba. The event, which took place on October 6, 7, and 8, sought to bring together health professionals to discuss interdisciplinary practices in rehabilitation.
With the theme "Interdisciplinary Practices in the Care of People with Disabilities," the Seminar was attended by professionals from all over Brazil. On this occasion, ISD was represented by physiotherapist and coordinator of the Multiprofessional Residency in the Care of People with Disabilities (RESPCD), Lorenna Santiago, and by residents Joice Lorena, social worker, and Rosiane Santos, psychologist.
Lorenna gave a lecture on the challenges in implementing interdisciplinary work, sharing ISD's experience with the Individual Therapeutic Project (PTS) and with the Institute's teaching, research, and outreach activities.
“CER ISD has this interdisciplinary approach as part of our culture and, considering that we are also an educational institution, we have a role to play in helping to strengthen the Care Network for People with Disabilities by seeking innovation and sharing our challenges and successful experiences,” the professional emphasizes.
Residents Joice Lorena and Rosiane Santos participated in a roundtable discussion about the flow of care and services at ISD, which serves the SUS (Brazilian Public Health System) through a Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER) and a Maternal and Child Outpatient Clinic.
In addition to ISD's participation, the program included a lecture by Arthur Medeiros, General Coordinator of Health for People with Disabilities at the Ministry of Health, and several other activities focused on the themes of family-centered care, early stimulation and identification, and autonomy.
