The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is accepting registrations and submissions of scientific papers for the XII Neuroengineering Symposium, which in 2026 will be held in conjunction with the VIII International and XXVIII Brazilian Congress of Abenepi on October 28, 29, 30 and 31, at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), in Macaíba, and at the Natal Convention Center.

The event program begins on October 28th with workshops integrated into the Neuroengineering Symposium, held at IIN-ELS, an ISD unit in Macaíba. The activities aim to address topics such as neurophysiological systems, assistive technologies, cortical signal analysis, and electroencephalography. Participation in the workshops is contingent upon registration for the event, which can be done through the Abenepi Congress website.

On the remaining days of the event, research professors and multidisciplinary preceptors from ISD will participate in the Abenepi Congress program, with lectures on topics ranging from ethics in research and scientific training in health research, to the use of neuromodulation techniques and brain-computer interfaces in rehabilitation. 

The call for submissions of scientific papers (abstracts) in poster and oral presentation formats is also open and will close at 6 PM on June 29, 2026. The first registration period ends on June 30. The symposium

The ISD Neuroengineering Symposium, held for over ten years, addresses interdisciplinary themes that value the integration of science and society and promote dialogue between multiple professions and research areas.

The Brazilian Association of Child Neurology and Psychiatry and Related Professions (Abenepi) Congress brings together health professionals, researchers, teachers, managers and educators, students and residents for dialogue, in its 2026 edition, on the impacts of the digital age on childhood and adolescence and the challenges for health, education and families. 

In the Congress program, ISD contributes with excerpts on the positive impacts and aspects of scientific research and technological innovation on the quality of life, rehabilitation, and neurodevelopment of children.

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is a Social Organization of the Federal Executive Branch, supervised by the Ministry of Education, with the intervention of the Ministry of Sport. It encompasses the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience and the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health, both located in Macaíba.
