Physiotherapist preceptor Camila Simão, coordinator of the Specialized Rehabilitation Center of the Santos Dumont Institute (CER ISD), participated. from the thematic panel “Care that makes sense: Individual Therapeutic Project and matrix support as strategies for strengthening the RCPD”, at the XXXIX Congress of the National Council of Municipal Health Secretariats (CONASEMS 2026), cConsidered one of the biggest public health events in Brazil.
Held between July 12th and 15th at the Events Center of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre (RS), the congress brought together approximately 13,000 participants throughout its program, including municipal health secretaries, managers, technicians, advisors, and professionals from different regions of the country. The meeting provided an environment focused on the exchange of experiences, the strengthening of public management, and the collaborative construction of strategies for improving the Unified Health System (SUS).
On that occasion, Camila Simão gave a presentation on the “Individual Therapeutic Project (PTS): fundamentals and application in the care of people with disabilities,” addressing the importance of this initiative for the organization of comprehensive and interdisciplinary care in the context of rehabilitation. The presentation promoted reflections on the quality of care, the sharing of experiences, and the development of practices that strengthen the Care Network for People with Disabilities (RCPD).
“Participating in this panel, bringing the Individual Therapeutic Project (ITP) and matrix support as tools for managing and coordinating care, was very important to present strategies that can contribute to improving outcomes and responses to the health of people with disabilities. The Care Network for People with Disabilities (CDP) involves not only specialized care, but also Primary Health Care, other points in the care network, and sectors such as social assistance, education, sports, work, and culture,” she emphasizes.
The physiotherapist also emphasized that discussing these strategies at a national congress strengthens the Care Network for People with Disabilities in the territories. "The Individual Therapeutic Project should be understood as a dynamic process that must be incorporated into the institutional culture to improve care and make its implementation effective," she stated.
