Between September 14th and 18th, the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) received a visit from the Management Contract Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (CAACG). The committee's objective was to monitor the progress of the 15 performance indicators and targets agreed upon for the 2026 fiscal year.
The evaluation encompassed both the activities developed at the Anita Garibaldi Center for Education and Research in Health (Anita) and at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), ISD units located in Macaíba/RN. In addition, indicators focused on the organization's human and financial resource management were monitored.
Throughout the technical analyses, CAACG highlighted the collective effort of ISD and the favorable trend towards achieving the goals set for the year. Among the highlights of the period, the commission's report pointed to the full occupancy of installed capacity in health residency programs and undergraduate curricular activities, exceeding the required level.
Another point praised was the consolidation of initiatives with national impact, such as the implementation of the Winning Through Sport Program, in conjunction with the Ministry of Sport, which has already trained physical education professionals from 11 Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CERs) in the five regions of the country to use Paralympic sport as a rehabilitation tool. The promotion of continuing education activities in health with a direct impact on the training of professionals for the Unified Health System (SUS) was also highlighted.
In the context of scientific production, the ISD demonstrated a trend toward achieving the indicators that measure the completion rate of the Master's program in Neuroengineering within the 24-month timeframe and the scientific output of postgraduate research professors.
In the budgetary and administrative field, the Institute recorded a leverage of external resources of 17% of the planned annual budget and kept administrative costs under control at 13.3%, respecting the agreed ceiling.
“I congratulate ISD for the continuous improvement of its research facilities and services to the public. With each visit we see new and different things both at Anita and at IIN-ELS, and this deserves praise because it reflects the collective effort in the pursuit of excellence,” stated the president of CAACG, Fabio Cesar Braga de Abreu e Lima.
According to the Institute's management, the results of the semi-annual monitoring reflect the institutional commitment to guaranteeing quality services and promoting social transformation through education.
“The value of CAACG for the transformation and institutional maturation of ISD is undeniable. The commission's collaborations, suggestions, and guidance contribute to our continuous evolution. We still have many institutional challenges ahead, but we also have a very mature trajectory, with significant results in teaching, research, and outreach in the areas where ISD operates,” highlighted the Director-General of ISD, Reginaldo Freitas Júnior.
With the guidelines and corrections suggested by CAACG, ISD remains mobilized to consolidate the results of the indicators in the remaining months of 2026, reaffirming the Institute's strategic role in the scientific and technological development of the country.
