Posted in August 22, 2025

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) hosted, this Thursday (21), the 5th edition of Undime em Movimento, an event promoted by the Union of Municipal Education Directors of Rio Grande do Norte (Undime/RN), in partnership with the Municipal Department of Education of Macaíba. The meeting aimed to train managers, technicians and educators of the public education network.

In total, representatives from 40 municipalities participated in the activities, held at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), an ISD unit in Macaíba. The program included an opening ceremony, cultural presentations, lectures, and discussions organized in three themed rooms, addressing pedagogical, administrative, and technical aspects of educational management.

The initiative is part of the Undime/RN caravan, which travels the state providing guidance and training to the management teams of municipal education departments. "Undime/RN has been striving to be increasingly closer to the local communities, providing information and training to the departments' education teams. Being in Macaíba, the birthplace of poet Auta de Souza, is very significant for us, as it represents another city that opens its doors to the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of educational management in Rio Grande do Norte's municipalities," emphasized Petrúcio Ferreira, president of Undime/RN.

This was the first time that Undime em Movimento took place at an ISD unit. Edgard Morya, manager of IIN-ELS, emphasized the importance of the event for basic education in the region. "Hosting Undime em Movimento is a source of great satisfaction for the ISD, because we believe that social transformation depends on basic education. The Santos Dumont Institute, as a social organization linked to the Ministry of Education, has the mission of promoting education for life. Therefore, supporting actions that strengthen educational management in Rio Grande do Norte is completely aligned with what we believe and practice," he stated.

The meeting reinforced ISD's role as an active part of the state's education network. By opening its units to training initiatives and experience sharing, the Institute contributes to the development of educational management and reaffirms its commitment to working alongside schools, departments, and municipal administrators to strengthen public education.

"For us, education administrators, it's crucial to recognize and value the partnerships we have in our region. The Santos Dumont Institute's willingness to open its doors to municipalities is incredibly significant for municipal public education, strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding opportunities for advancement within our networks," concluded Petrúcio Ferreira.
