The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), a Social Organization linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC), has an open selection process for the position of Coordinator of the institution's Orthopedic Workshop. According to the announcement, the coordinator will be responsible for structuring and leading the Orthopedic Workshop, managing the team and resources, as well as supervising the manufacturing processes of orthopedic devices and promoting quality and technological innovation.
Professionals with degrees in fields such as Administration, Hospital Administration, Health Services Management, Hospital Management, Biomedical Engineering, Production Engineering, Public Management, Biomedicine, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapy are eligible to participate in the selection process.
The employment contract is governed by the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), with a stipulated work schedule of 40 hours per week. The gross salary is R$ 7,304.05, in addition to benefits such as health and dental insurance, meal and food vouchers, group life insurance, and free transportation between Natal and the ISD units in Macaíba.
ISD Orthopedic Workshop
The ISD Orthopedic Workshop is currently undergoing restructuring and awaiting accreditation with the Ministry of Health. The facility, linked to the ISD Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER ISD) and built with funds from the Ministry of Health, will occupy an area of over 600 square meters on the second floor of the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) building, and will be integrated with the institution's neuroscience and neuroengineering laboratories.
Once operational, the workshop will produce, adapt, and maintain devices such as orthoses, prostheses, and mobility aids (MOAs) that aim to improve the autonomy and quality of life of people with disabilities or locomotor injuries. Devices such as adapted footwear and insoles, braces, customized wheelchairs, and other equipment will be produced, using a variety of technologies to meet individual patient needs.
