On the 18th and 19th of July, the researcher from Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), Fabricio Brazil, was in Pernambuco Polytechnic School at the invitation of the Postgraduate Program in Computer Engineering (PPGEC), from University of Pernambuco (UPE). Fabrício went to Recife to participate in the student’s master’s defense panel Alessandra Maranhão Soares, whose dissertation title is “Structured Pyramidal Neural Network Applied to Computer Vision Problems”, under the guidance of professors Bruno Fernandes It is Carmelo Bastos.
Still during the visit to UPE, Fabrício spoke to professors, researchers and students about the research and work carried out at IIN-ELS, one of the units of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) located in Macaíba (RN), and mentioned some possibilities for partnership between both institutions. Professor Carmelo Bastos has already come to Macaíba to participate in the defense of a student of the master's degree in Neuroengineering offered by IIN-ELS and according to Fabrício, more UPE professors should visit this ISD unit in the coming months.
