The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) is accepting applications until August 20th for its scholarship program in Scientific Initiation (PIBIC), Technological Development and Innovation Initiation (PIBITI), and Scientific Initiation for High School (PIBIC-EM). The scholarships are scheduled to begin in September 2026 and last until August 2027.
Fifteen places are offered in total, three for PIBIC, three for PIBITI, and nine for PIBIC-EM, with reserved places for Black, mixed-race, Indigenous, and Quilombola people. The monthly value of the PIBIC and PIBITI scholarships is R$$700, while the value of the PIBIC-EM scholarships is R$$300 per month. Both categories are funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
For the PIBIC and PIBITI scholarships, undergraduate students regularly enrolled in public higher education institutions with an updated curriculum on the Lattes Platform are eligible to apply.
For PIBIC-EM scholarships, the requirements are being regularly enrolled in a public high school, attending the current academic year, and having an updated curriculum on the CNPq Lattes Platform.

The scholarships are linked to the ISD's Graduate Program in Neuroengineering (PPGN), based at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS) in Macaíba, Rio Grande do Norte. The goal is to foster the development of new researchers and stimulate scientific and technological innovation in the fields of neuroengineering, biotechnology, and rehabilitation.
The selection process includes analysis of the curriculum vitae and cover letter, an interview, and, only in the case of the PIBIC/PIBITI selection, an evaluation of the research proposal. The final results will be announced on September 2, 2026.
