ISD participates in the launch of the Call for selection of researchers for the PAX Institutional Development Project | RN

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) participated, last Wednesday, September 6th, in the launch of the notice for the selection of researchers who will integrate the institutional development project of the Augusto Severo Scientific and Technological Park – PAX | RN. The notice will offer 26 scholarships, with a total investment of R$ 1,358,400.00, financed with resources from the State Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNDET) and administered by the Foundation for Support and Promotion of Science, Technology and Innovation of RN ( Fapern). The selection encompasses several areas, such as Administration, Architecture, Accounting, Social Communication, Law, Engineering, Computer Networks and Information Technology. Of the 26 scholarships offered, 9 will be allocated to undergraduate students; 14 will go to undergraduate graduates; 2 will be intended for master's graduates and one will be intended for a doctoral graduate without employment. The duration of the scholarships is 24 months, with values ranging from R$ 700 to R$ 7,300.00.


The announcement launch ceremony was attended by Governor Fátima Bezerra, who highlighted the importance of the announcement for the operation of PAX | RN. “This means giving life to the Technological Park, strengthening its role in what it has as its vocation, which is research and technological development”, assessed the head of the state executive.


Member of the PAX Scientific-Technological Committee | RN, Edgard Morya, manager of the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neuroscience (IIN-ELS), one of the two ISD units in Macaíba, represented the institution at the launch of the Notice. “The notice is the initial step to stimulate innovative projects in the Technology Park, in search of development in areas of interest to PAX for Rio Grande do Norte”, he highlighted. 


Participating in the launch were the assistant secretaries of Economic Development, Silvio Torquato, and the civil cabinet, Ivanilson Maia; the rector of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Daniel Diniz; the president of FAPERN, professor Gilton Sampaio; the General Director of IDEMA, Leonlene Aguiar; the Technical Director of Sebrae, João Hélio Cavalcanti; representatives from IFRN (Rafael Passos); from Emparn (Terezinha Lucia); the Innovation Advisor and Executive Secretary of the Thematic Commission on Innovation, Science and Technology/FIERN, Susie Alves; pro-rector of UFRN, Rubens Maribondo, and representing the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), Carlos André.


The Augusto Severo Scientific and Technological Park – PAX

THE PAX | RN will be a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in areas crucial to the economic development of Rio Grande do Norte, such as renewable energy, mining, fishing, aquaculture, the textile sector, tourism, fruit growing, health, Industry 4.0, and more. It seeks to strengthen collaboration between industry, educational institutions, research, companies and governments, promoting science, innovation and sustainability. 


It is located next to the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences, enhancing contact with researchers and scientists who already work at ISD. 


This partnership involves the State Government of RN, Citizen Government Project and 14 other public and private partners, such as FAPERN, UERN, UFRN, Instituto Santos Dumont, SEBRAE-RN, FIERN, Fecomércio, local City Halls and FUNCERN.
