Pint of Science, an international science dissemination festival that seeks to bring science closer to society in a relaxed and accessible way, will bring together dozens of researchers and experts in bars and restaurants in Natal to discuss relevant topics in various areas of knowledge.
This year, the festival will take place between May 19th and 21st, in three bars in Natal: Bar 54, in the Ponta Negra neighborhood; Mahalila, in Potilândia; and Bardallos, in Cidade Alta. The program at Bardallos will only take place on the 21st; at Mahalila, on the 20th and 21st; and at Bar 54, on all three days.
Brought to Brazil from England, the event is currently organized by a network of national and international collaborations. In Rio Grande do Norte, the organizing team is coordinated by Andressa Radiske and Carolina Gonzalez, research professors at the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), and Janine Inez-Rossato, professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
The theme chosen for 2025 – “Time for Change” – aims to highlight topics such as climate change and changes in life on the planet, politics and the global order of the world, and how science, education and our universities work. The meetings are a unique opportunity for the public to interact and discuss with scientists on a variety of topics, including dengue prevention, water pollution and the risks of technological advances to the environment.
How to participate
The Pint of Science festival is open to the public and does not require registration or confirmation of attendance. The talks that make up the program take place simultaneously in the participating bars, always starting at 7 pm.
